Seasonal Allergies: How to Relieve Them Effectively
Modern antihistamines like loratadine and cetirizine work for up to 24 hours and relieve major symptoms without strong sedation. For more serious cases, corticosteroid sprays may also be recommended.
Extracts of quercetin, nettle, and vitamin C have an antihistamine effect and can be used alone or as an adjunct to classical therapy. Nasal sprays with sea water also help to flush the mucous membrane.
Use HEPA filters, close windows during peak hours, and wash textiles in the home frequently. Wearing sunglasses and a hat outside further protects the eyes and hair from trapping allergens.
